Reflection of Bluebeard

On Thursday’s discussion, we had continued discussed the scaring tale Bluebeard. During the lecture, we talked about the similarities and differences of each version of Bluebeard, and the audiences as well as the effects on children of the story. Most of versions, bluebeard, as usual, disappear as a rich ugly man and as a serial killer. Moreover, the story always turn to happy ending from a blue (dark) side, and there is constantly a key or egg and forbidden chamber in each tales. Despite those, the main idea of the story is still almost same no matter which version of Bluebeard is that curiosity. As we had last discussion on Tuesday, the wives action of opening the door is similar to discovering the door to the truth. Although the truth can be hard to accept, the truth is better than lies and deception. Therefore, as a rational human, people should choose explore the truth instead of keeping secret from others because there is no concealing the truth. The truth will come to light sooner or later eventually.
